A possible fix for career progress loss on Xbox One:
If you encounter the problem where exiting a career session makes the game freeze then crash to the Xbox dashboard, DO NOT start the game again instantly. The freeze almost certainly corrupted the save file and if you start the game again, it will overwrite your old save with the new one which doesn't include your career progress. It will also automatically overwrite the save file in the cloud, so your progress is lost forever.
What I did last time is before starting the game again, I went to Manage Game and deleted the local save file.
- Press the Menu (Start) button on the game tile
- Choose "Manage Game"
- Go to "Save File"
- Select and choose "Delete from this Xbox" (and NOT "Delete everywhere")
After this, start the game. Since it has no save file on the console, it will pull the save file from Xbox Live, which, hopefully still has your old career.
The last time I encountered this freeze bug I did this method and it seemed to work, my career remained intact. However, it's not 100% that I'm right. Maybe I was just lucky that the freeze didn't delete my progress. So this is still a huge, game breaking bug.
Also, this doesn't help those who simply start the game and their career is gone, although they encountered no problems or freezes before whatsoever.
