The game runs on a new and unspecified game engine.

The story opens with a catastrophic event that Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey describes as "like a global 9/11." There's little more to go on, but major cities on multiple continents are affected by some kind of terrorism perpetrated by a terrorist organization called KVA.
It is set in 2054.

You play a character named Private Mitchell, who is voiced by prolific voice actor Troy Baker. You may know Baker for his recent roles in The Last of Us (Joel), BioShock Infinite (Booker), and Batman: Arkham Origins (The Joker). Mitchell only speaks during cutscenes; never during gameplay.

Mitchell starts Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare as a Marine, who is squadmates with Will Irons, the son of Private Military Company Atlas Corporation CEO Jonathan Irons (played by Kevin Spacey). After their tour of duty is done, the elder Irons asks Mitchell if he wants to leave the Marines to join his father's company. Mitchell says yes and is outfitted with an "EXO" suit for his new job.

Unlike past Call of Duty games, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has only one protagonist.
Kevin Spacey says he was "very excited" about joining the game when he was originally approached.
You'll earn points every mission that can be used to upgrade your EXO suit. Using the EXO suit, you can climb walls with magnetic gloves, boost-dodge toward cover, perform super-jumps that let you get to higher ground, use optic camouflage for cloaking, and hover in mid-air.

Your arsenal includes "variable grenades," which can be switched from concussion to threat detection while they cook. The threat detection grenade reveals enemy locations and makes this information available via an augmented reality system visible in your visor.

Some of your guns are energy-based, and do not use traditional ammunition.
There is a rideable vehicle called a Pitbull, which is based on the real world Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle.
There's no official word on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer yet, but Condrey teases, "You can probably imagine the possibilities of a lot of the stuff you saw in single-player and how it would apply online." Activision also says it is "absolutely committed" to supporting eSports.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will have some kind of co-op mode.
Veteran Metal Gear Solid composer Harry Gregson-Williams is working on the game's soundtrack. Audio director Don Veca says, "I think Advanced Warfare is going to be the best-sounding and certainly the best-mixed game ever."
In an effort to create a believable world, Activision consulted with "experts from production design in movies to experts in the military to scientists and futurists," according to Sledgehammer cofounder Glen Schofield.

Jo tak, hjørne campers med cloak. Håber virkelig Schuler har ret, og jeg bare er for pessimistisk.

Spec ops i stil med MW2, jo tak, og hvis man virkelig vil forkæle os en arcade mode som i COD4, bare som co-op

Min ønskeliste for COD:AW (som ikke bliver opfyldt) ...

Lokations baseret match-making
Der må gerne være skill-based match making, men lokation først og fremmest. ikke flere kampe med italienere, franskmænd og spaniere

Begynder playlist
Noget hvor rang 10 og ned kan lære spillet og banerne at kende. Så er der måske flere, der vil blive hængende, når de ikke længere bliver slagtet af en prestige 10 m alt unlocked.

Max 3 perks af gangen
Tilbage til de gode gamle dage, hvor man skulle tænke over hvilke perks man brugte afhængig af gamemode og modstandere.

Max 1 attachment af gangen
med mindre man bruger fx. Bling

Pro-perks
Elskede at jagte pro-perks

Launcher der kan locke-on
En Hind kræver kun 8 kills m Hardline (og man kan jo snildt have 6-7 perks på). Det tager 2 fulde ARs m armor piercing at skyde den ned. Vi mangler en launcher som Stinger fra MW2

Ingen Stopping Power
TTK er al for lav, og giver ingen mulighed for at reagere og evt udspille en modstander. Ud m,ed stopping power på alle våben og som perk.

Ingen Juggernaut
Det bliver bare en "omvendt" stopping power. Painkiller fra Ghosts fungerer rigtigt fint.

Ingen shields
Overhovedet. De trækker hastigeheden ud af spillet, og bruges primært til at trolle andre spillere.

Ingen camper scopes
Dvs ingen thermals eller tracker scopes.

Tac insert tilbage i FFA
Elsker at jagte boostere

Ingen killstreaks uden forsvar
Guard Dog er et glimrende eksempel på sådan en scorestreak. Den kan ikke høres eller ses på radar, og vil gå efter hævn tværs over banen.

Developer will never "show off some flash in the pan, high-end PC demo" that isn't actually possibleSledgehammer Games isn't in the business of screening top-tier PC-based demos that are literally impossible to achieve on a console, the developer's co-founder Michael Condrey have told OXM. As far as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is concerned, what you see is what you get.

"We've always had a commitment to delivering at target spec," Condrey told me in an interview you'll read in the latest issue of OXM, which is on sale now in the UK. "We're not a studio that's just going to go out and show off some flash in the pan, high-end PC demo that we're never going to be able to put on a console.

"We worked very closely with Microsoft throughout the whole three years to understand where they were going and stay right in parallel. As [co-founder Glen Schofield] said, nothing's effortless, but Microsoft was a great partner to Call of Duty."

Activision screened eight minutes of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare running on an Xbox One at Microsoft's E3 press event - check out the footage below. The game's resolution is "ahead" of that of Call of Duty: Ghosts, though Sledgehammer has yet to lock it down: according to Digital Foundry, you can expect a pixelcount bump of at least 50%, though the frame rate isn't quite in line with that of last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts. In accordance with tradition, the new Call of Duty's DLC will arrive on Xbox 360 and Xbox One first.

The improved visuals are possible thanks to an extra year in development, as per Activision's decision to put three separate teams to work on Call of Duty simultaneously . "We really have to thank Activision, not just for the extra year, but for the singular focus," observed Condrey. "Three years to get to next gen. The current gen game - and there's more news to come about that - never got in the way of our ambitions, it never stopped us from being super-creative about taking full advantage of the next-gen hardware.

"It decoupled us from worrying about having to do a split-platform year, like titles had to last year. So that was really refreshing, and gave us some freedom to really go after this one."
